...Just a few Pictures from 2007 of the one and only Stackridge. We arrived at the very fresh and new ( less than 1 year old) Charter Hall, Smarden Kent just still in the light at just past 7 pm on a fairly mild October evening. Could do with a better sign on main road as very easy to drive straight pass Venue. Anyway being quite early had a quick chat with organisers of the nights offering who were looking forward to seeing the Mighty Stackridge play there Theatre. They told us there had been a power failure earlier in the day and that the band had not even done sound checks yet, so we had a treat through the glass in the Doors we had impromptu Gig with messrs Warren, Davis and Co Belting out one after the other of Stackridge Classics, Not full versions but none the less what a great freebie. Then time to go in, paid a Tenner, yes just £10 each on the door to hear well over 2 nearly 3 Hours (With a 20 min break in between) of fantastic Live Music by true time served professionals. James Warren got thing under way by stating "Where’s Mutter"? Apparently Mutter was stuck somewhere on the M25 or M20 trying to get to Smarden. Starting of the evening with Fundamentally Yours and rolling one after another classic songs with James asking fellow Stackridge members what song can we do next without Mutter. Stackridge Version 2007 is now Augmented to an incredible 9 members on stage, the sound they reproduce is so near to the Records just incredible. A while into proceedings an Apparition appeared in the Wings with James stating Mutter Slater everyone and he appeared in front of his mic. All the Great Stackridge songs in the set Teatime, Galloping Gaucho, Slark, Road to Venezuela, The Last Plimsoll who Crun proceeded by asking “What do you call Trainers in Kent” “Trainers” we shouted back Crun looked at us and in his West Country Brogue replied well we call them Plimsolls were we come from” and straight into The Last Plimsoll, Korgis Songs If I Had You and Everyone’s gotta learn sometime absolutely faultless and the extra “verse” version that was not released. Grooving along the Highway, Do The Stanley, Dora, Lummy Days, Fish In a Glass, James with The Ultra high pitched Anyone For Tennis, Friendliness, Happy in the Lord, Ruth did you read my mind, and others which might come to me.
